5/9/23,9:40 AM Item Coversheet <br /> In <br /> Public Works <br /> DATE: 5/5/2023 <br /> MEMO: 2023-47 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Scot Wrighton,City Manager <br /> Matt Newell,Public Works Director <br /> Jessica Coleman,Chief Procurement Officer <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Accepting Woody's Municipal Supply Co.Quote to Upfit Eight(8)Dump Trucks <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends awarding the following resolution: <br /> Resolution accepting the quote of Woody's Municipal Supply Co. for$791,679.50 to Upfit six(6)Single Axle Snowplow Dump <br /> Trucks at$97,005.25 each and two(2)Tandem Axle Snowplow Dump Trucks at$97,325.00 each along with an additional <br /> $14,998.00 for a new Brine System on one of the trucks. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Municipal Services Division has requested New Upfitting Equipment for our 2022&2023 chassis trucks. Dump trucks are <br /> ordered in two parts:the chassis,and the dumb bed,plow,salt spreader,etc. In 2022,it was recommended that the long delivery <br /> schedule made some vendors reluctant to provide a quote for the upfit that might have to stand for over 12-18 months before the <br /> truck was delivered. Some of the trucks are now being delivered and the interested vendors contacted were willing to lock into an <br /> upfit price. <br /> Competitive quotes were solicited from area upfitters,the quote by Woody's Municipal Supply Co. is low and appears to be <br /> reasonable for the work required.
