1 <br /> Information Technology <br /> DATE: 5/15/2023 <br /> MEMO: 2023-05 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council <br /> FROM: James Edwards,Director Information Technology Department <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Accepting Presidio Networked Solutions Group,LLC Quote for Purchase of Two Advanced Enterprise <br /> Data Network Firewall Appliances. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: City Staff recommends that City Council approve the attached Resolution authorizing a <br /> purchase from Presidio Networked Solutions Group,LLC(Presidio)in the amount of$115,579.28 for the purchase of Two <br /> Advanced Enterprise Data Network Firewall Appliances to replace existing Firewall infrastructure at end of life. <br /> BACKGROUND: The existing Data Network Firewall Infrastructure was put into service in 2012. Cisco will no longer provide <br /> any level of support beyond August 2023. These components are necessary and critical for the protection of the City's Data Assets <br /> from various internet-based vulnerabilities. Security updates for the existing infrastructure will no longer be available after <br /> December 2023. Procurement for this level of protection equipment has been slow at best. Presidio currently has these in their <br /> warehouse now. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: I.T. Staff included these replacements in the 2023 budget which was approved by the City Council <br /> in December of 2022. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: Non Anticipated <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Jim Edwards,IT Director,(217)450-2236 <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> This purchase is included in the adopted City 2023 General Fund Budget and current Presidio quote came in less than the budgeted <br /> estimate of$120,000.
