fl <br /> Information Technology <br /> DATE: 5/15/2023 <br /> MEMO: 2023-07 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Jim Edwards,Director of Information Technology <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing the Expenditure of Funds to Replace a Data Storage Array at end of support from Presidio <br /> Networked Solutions Group,LLC. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a purchase order in the amount of$59,895.19 to Presidio <br /> Networked Solutions Group,LLC to replace existing hardware which has reached its end of life where repair parts are no longer <br /> available. <br /> BACKGROUND: The City currently has a data storage array which has reached the end of its life where equipment support is no <br /> longer available. The City I.T. department has been purchasing aftermarket parts for the existing data storage array which are now <br /> nearly impossible to obtain. This storage array is located at the Police Department and is the backup and recovery data repository <br /> for the production storage array used at the Civic Center.In the event of a natural disaster or system failure which renders the <br /> production data storage array unavailable,this backup and recovery storage array would be used to get mission critical systems <br /> back online.The replacement of this data storage array is due and perhaps overdue. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: Original purchase of this data storage array was over 10 years ago. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: Ther are no known objections <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Jim Edwards,Director of Information Technology(x2236) <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: This purchase is budgeted in the I.T General Fund budget and final pricing came in over <br /> $5,000 less than the budget estimate. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> Description Type <br /> Resolution Resolution Letter <br /> Quote Backup Material <br />
