RESOLUTION NO. R2023~-12-5 <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF <br /> A PORTION OF LOST BRIDGE ROAD, A MACON COUNTY <br /> ROADWAY FOR 217 WIFFLE BALL CLASSIC <br /> WHEREAS, the 217 Wiffle Ball Classic ("Classic"), is an annual event organized by <br /> residents of the City of Decatur for charitable purposes; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the 8th Annual Wiffle Ball Classic is scheduled to be held on August 1, 2023 <br /> -August 6, 2023 at a residence located at 2910 Lewallen Place, Decatur, 11 ("Property") ; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Property is adjacent to Lost Bridge Road, a roadway under the <br /> jurisdiction and control of Macon County, Illinois; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Lost Bridge Road is utilized by patrons and visitors of the Classic; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the organizers of the Classic believe that Lost Bridge Road should be <br /> temporarily closed during the Classic. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Decatur, Illinois, <br /> that it recommends to the County of Macon, Illinois, temporarily close Lost Bridge Road at <br /> locations and in a manner it deems necessary and appropriate for the efficient and safe travel of <br /> vehicular traffic during the Classic event. <br /> NOW IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that if Lost Bridge Road is temporarily closed during <br /> the Classic event by the county of Macon, Illinois, the City of Decatur will assist in rerouting <br /> vehicular traffic from Lost Bridge Road on City roadways, in accordance with event agreements <br /> between the City of Decatur, the County of Macon and the 217 Wiffle Ball Classic. <br /> PRESENTED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of June, 2023. <br /> )04 <br /> JULIE MOORE WOLFE <br /> MAYOR <br /> ATTEST: <br /> ar <br /> KIM ALTHOFF <br /> CITY CLERK <br />
