OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER July 17,2023 TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members FROM: Scot Wrighton, City Manager Jon Kindseth,Deputy City Manager Lacie Elzy, Transportation Services Director SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing Execution and Agreement of FY2024 Transit Downstate Operating Grant Agreement with Illinois Department of Transportation. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that this item be approved. BACKGROUND: The City of Decatur applies to the Illinois Department of Transportation each year for a Transit Operating Assistance Agreement to assist with funding the operations of public transportation. The Transit Operating Assistance Agreement provides 65%reimbursement to the City of Decatur for operational expenses. The agreement amount to the City of Decatur is up to $13,379,000.00 with the City of Decatur responsible for providing 35%matching funds. Currently,the City of Decatur utilizes the 5307 Federal Transportation Administration(FTA) funds as 35%match for public transit operations. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: Staff is not aware of objections.
