rr
r
' A Division of Tyrolt,Inc.
PAVING • MILLING • STABILIZATION
r
SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY AND DRUG FREE WORKPLACE PLAN
rGeneral Objective: This policy is intended to comply with the Drug Free Workplace Act as
amended and for the protection of Dunn Company, its employees, customers, and the
' public at large.
Substance abuse is dangerous. Consequences of intoxicant abuse include bodily harm and
r property damage to employees, customers, and the public at large. As a result, Dunn
Company has designed a policy to prevent, detect, and deter substance abuse. The intent of
this policy is to offer a helping hand to those who need it while sending a clear message:
' Substance abuse is incompatible with employment at Dunn Company.
What substances and behaviors are prohibited?
rDunn Company does not allow possession, distribution, or manufacture of alcohol or illegal
drugs on or in company property or job sites. Refusal to submit to screening is a policy
r violation. You may not report for work within four hours of using alcohol, while using
alcohol, or when you have a breath alcohol concentration of 0.04 percent or greater. Dunn
Company also prohibits the presence of illegal drugs or of legal drugs used illicitly in the
' bodies of employees as detected by a certified Department of Health and Human Services
(DHHS) National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) drug testing laboratory. Examples of illegal
drugs include marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, heroin, and PCP. In addition, Dun
r Company limits duty of those using prescribed legal drugs if such use impairs one's ability to
safely perform normal duties. You must let your supervisor know if you are taking any drugs
that could impair you.
rHow will Dunn Company monitor compliance?
r Dunn Company requires employees to participate in intoxicant screening as a condition of
employment. Intoxicant screening is required in the following circumstances:
' I. Conditional job offers: A Conditional job offer for a new hire will be withdrawn if
the candidate refuses screening Or tests positive for unauthorized intoxicant use.
II. Post Accident: Employees must be available for intoxicant screening for eight hours
r after an accident.
III. Fteasortable suspicion: When an employee's work behavior or appearance suggests
possible intoxicant use, a trained supervisor will refer an employee for intoxicant screening.
IV. Random: Annually, 50% of those employees who drive vehicles requiring a CDL, and
25of all other employees will receive random intoxicant screening.
V Return to duty and follow up: Those individuals who have violated the intoxicant
us ctorduct standards will submit to testing before returning to work and unannounced
intoxicant screening as a condition of continued employment, if offered.
CIJ,;TH EoEAETRFET • DECATUR, ILLINOIS 62522-1699 PHONE 217-429-4444 FAx 217-429-7917
www.OUNrico.com
