This program helps correct life-threatening situations or conditions that affect health and
safety for owner occupied homes. The program currently provides up to$6,000 for homeowner problems such as: hot water
heaters, electrical issues, furnace replacement in the winter and medically necessary air conditioning replacement. The program
currently does not provide funding for sewer lateral repairs because most of these repairs exceed the maximum allowable funding.
The attached policy language provides an outline for a method the City can use to share in the expense using Sewer Funds and
Community Development Block Grant funds(CDBG)so as to include sewer lateral repairs as part of the emergency program.
ATTACHMENTS:
Description Type
Motion Adopting ity_Council Policy nitary 5swer Backup Material
Lateral Emergeygram
https:Hdecatur.novusagenda.com/agendaweb/CoverSheet.aspx?ltemID=4520 1/1
