In <br /> Municipal Services <br /> DATE: 10/5/2023 <br /> MEMO: 2023-96 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Scott Wrighton,City Manager <br /> Matt Newell,Public Works Director <br /> Byron Bowman,Municipal Services Manager <br /> Chris Bergschneider,Fleet Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing Acceptance of the Bid for the Purchase of a Pavement Breaker from Midwest <br /> Equipment MFG. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a purchase order in the amount of$196,701.00 to Midwest <br /> Equipment MFC.to furnish one(1)2023 Arrow Hammer 1450 Pavement Breaker. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The 2023 Equipment Replacement Plan,approved by Council,includes the purchase of a new Pavement Breaker to replace an <br /> existing Pavement Breaker used by the Water Services Division for water main work within paved areas. <br /> The old machine being replaced is Unit 123, a 2002 Arrow Master 1350. It is selected to be replaced due to its age and condition. <br /> Unit 123 has 2,397 hours. <br /> The replacement pavement breaker is estimated to be delivered in 30-60 days. <br /> DISPOSAL OF REPLACED UNIT: The old unit is to be traded in. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: None. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Fleet Maintenance wrote the bid specifications based on Water Distribution requirements. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell,Public Works Director, Chris Bergschneider,Fleet Supervisor.
