RESOLUTION NO. R2023— X43 <br /> RESOLUTION ESTIMATING AMOUNTS NECESSARY TO BE RAISED BY THE <br /> 2023 TAX LEVY—3% INCREASE <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> SECTION 1. That the attached Exhibit A are the amounts of money estimated to be <br /> raised by taxation upon taxable property in the City of Decatur, for the 2023 Assessed Value <br /> with property tax billed to property owners in 2024 and payable in 2024. <br /> SECTION 2. That the City Council was informed by the City Manager at the Council <br /> Meeting on November 20, 2023 of the amounts of money estimated to be raised by taxation upon <br /> taxable property in the City of Decatur, for the 2023 Assessed Value with property tax billed to <br /> property owners in 2024 and payable in 2024. <br /> SECTION 3. That notice of a public hearing to be held at the City Council meeting of <br /> December 18, 2023 in the city council chamber of the Decatur Civic Center will be published in <br /> the public media on December 9, 2023, and that the Tax Levy will be presented to the City of <br /> Decatur City Council for approval at the December 18, 2023 meeting of the City Council. <br /> PRESENTED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of November 2023. <br /> J Moore Wolfe, Mayor <br /> Attest: <br /> Kimberl Althoff C ty Clerk <br />
