Project Review <br /> The proposed improvement, 2023 Manhole Rehabilitation Project, designated as City <br /> Project 2023-14, consists of rehabilitation of existing brick and concrete manholes at <br /> various locations throughout the City. The work includes mobilization, manhole <br /> cleaning, repair of substrate and active infiltration, application of cementitious material, <br /> frame and casting replacement, cleanup, and traffic control. <br /> ' A. Minority Participation Goals for Public Works Contracts—City Code Chapter 28,Article <br /> 10 <br /> IV. <br /> A. Policy <br /> The City of Decatur encourages a diverse workforce for all municipal procurement and <br /> public works projects. Toward that end, the City establishes goals for participation by <br /> ' Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and minority workers for public works contracts, <br /> and incentives for procuring equipment, supplies and services for the city government <br /> from MBEs. <br /> The City requires that general contractors show good faith efforts to meet the City's <br /> goals of 10% of the project amount be used to hire MBE subcontractors when <br /> subcontracting opportunities exist and/or 10%of the total dollar amount of the contract <br /> should be for the purchase of goods, material and equipment to Minority Business <br /> Enterprise, Wd 18% total hours are to be worked by minority employees. Note that there <br /> are two goals that need to be addressed <br /> B.
