router uses cellular technology to allow continuous video offloading in the field. This will <br /> eliminate a backlog of videos on each SSD and thus not require long periods of time at <br /> Headquarters to off load or require a manual off load. This has been tested on a DPD squad car <br /> for some time and is working as expected. <br /> The second step is to upgrade the video processing units (VPU) in each squad car. The current <br /> VPUs are an older technology and need to be upgraded to work well with other current <br /> technology utilized by the Department. This second step has been budgeted for in the 2024 <br /> budget and will commence once the Cradlepoint routers are installed and operational. <br /> This request is for the purchase of 40 Cradlepoint routers and antennas from CDW at a cost of <br /> $88,637.60. Funding for this purchase will be from the 2023 budget and will be a mix of general <br /> fund and non-general fund monies (DUI Fund). <br />
