' Water Sampling Stations, City Project 2023-13
Questions
November 9, 2023
1. QUESTION: Will the City require the pressure sensors to be connected to the
' internet?
ANSWER: The pressure sensors provided by Mueller come with cellular
connectivity. The contractor does not need to arrange for any further internet
connectivity.
2. QUESTION: On the water sampling station that is to be directly supplied to the City
of Decatur, are we only supplying the Mueller Station? Or are we required to provide
the corp, curb stop, piping, etc. that goes from station to existing watermain?
ANSWER: The spare water sampling station is to include only the sampling station
itself and no appurtenances.
1 3. QUESTION: On the section drawings it actually shows 20 locations to install, I'm
assuming 1 of these represents the spare location? Is it Sampling Station#8?
ANSWER: Correct. Sampling Station#8 is located within the City's Municipal
Service Center. There is an existing sampling station there, so the 20d' sampling
station is to be a spare.
4. QUESTION: What size is the existing watermain that we tie-in to going to be
' generally? Are we talking 6"-12" in all cases or is there bigger watermain that we are
tapping?
ANSWER: All of the watermains that are to be tapped for the water sampling stations
1 are 12" in diameter or less, except two: Station#2, on W. Southside Drive, which is
18"; and Station#6 on N. 22nd Street, which is 16".
