Resolution rescinding a portion of Resolution No.R2022-95 accepting the State of Illinois Joint Purchasing Contract <br /> Holder Bid Price of Rush Truck Center for the Purchase of Two(2)tandem Axle Truck Chassis and Three(3)Single Axle <br /> Truck Chassis. All vehicles except for one(1)Tandem Axle truck chassis have not been delivered to the City. <br /> 2. Resolution awarding a contract in the amount of$711,394.00 to Midway Freightliner for the following items: <br /> Two(2)2023 Freightliner 108 SD Plus 2025 tandems; <br /> Five(5)2023 Freightliner 108 SD Plus 2025 single. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> In June 2022,the City Council approved Resolution R2022-95 awarding a contract to Rush Truck Centers to provide dump truck <br /> chassis under the State of Illinois Joint Purchasing Contract. Since that date,they have been unable to provide the requested <br /> chassis and have not been able to provide an expected build date except for one tandem axle that has been delivered. The delivery <br /> of the one truck was unexpected and Rush was unsure why one truck was delivered,the additional build dates could not be <br /> provided. Given that no dates can be provided by the State Bid Holder,specifications were prepared and the requested truck <br /> chassis was bid out through the City Purchasing Division. Bids were received on November 15th,2023 with the following results: <br /> Vendor Single Axle Chassis Tandem Axle Chassis <br /> Rush Truck Centers $97,224 $106,445 <br /> Midway Freightliner $98,774 $108,762 <br /> Volmac Volvo $136,832 $145,723 <br /> Since Rush Truck Centers was unable to honor the past purchase orders and provide a build date for the trucks,staff recommends <br /> proceeding with the second bidder,Midway Freightliner with costs only slightly higher. Discussions had with Midway before the <br /> bid process began indicated that they could build the trucks by May of 2024. <br /> Upfitting of the(8)dump truck chassis was awarded to Woody's Municipal Supply Co. on 5/15/2023 under Resolution R2023-102 <br /> and is still good for these chassis. <br /> Fiscal Year(FY)2022 fleet budget included three(3)single axle and two(2)tandem axle dump truck chassis.FY 2023 budget <br /> included two(2)additional single axle and one(1)additional tandem axle dump truck chassis. Since one(1)tandem axle dump <br /> truck was delivered by Rush Truck Centers and is currently at Woody's Municipal Supply for upfitting,the current bid was <br /> prepared to award a total of(5)single axle and(2)tandem axle dump trucks meeting the plan proposed in the FY 2022 and FY <br /> 2023 budget. FY 2024 budget has an additional five(5)single axle dump truck chassis planned and will be bid next year. <br /> The following is the planned trucks to be replaced: <br /> Replacement Schedule <br />
