MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> DECATUR CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br /> Thursday, January 11, 2024 <br /> City Council Chamber, Decatur Civic Center <br /> I. Call to Order and Determination of a Quorum <br /> The January 11, 2024, meeting of the Decatur City Plan Commission was called to order at 3:19 <br /> P.M. in the City Council Chamber, Third Floor of the Decatur Civic Center, by Chairman James <br /> Schwarz who determined a quorum was present. <br /> Members Present: James Schwartz, Matt Naber, Bobby Garner, Andrew Taylor, Josh Prasun, <br /> James Oliver <br /> Members Absent: Jason Drake, A.G Webber, Maurice Payne, Susie Peck, <br /> Staff Present: Greg Crowe, Joselyn Stewart,Amy Waks, Deanna Buck <br /> II. Approval of Minutes of the December 14,2023, City Plan Commission Meeting <br /> It was moved and seconded(Andrew Taylor/Matt Naber) to approve the minutes of the <br /> December 14, 2023, meeting of the Decatur City Plan Commission. Motion carried. <br /> III. New Business <br /> A. Case No. 24-01 Petition of ARCHER-DANIELS-MIDLAND COMPANY, to rezone <br /> the property located adjacent and just west of 1001 N BRUSH COLLEGE RD from <br /> R-1 Single Family Residence District to M-1 Intense Commercial—Light Industrial <br /> District <br /> It was moved and seconded (Matt Naber/Andrew Taylor) to forward Case No. 24-01 to the City <br /> Council with a recommendation of approval as set forth in the staff report. <br /> Joselyn Stewart discussed staff's recommendation for approval of the petition based on the staff <br /> report distributed to the Plan Commission prior to the meeting (staff report is on file and is <br /> available for reviewing by request). <br /> A Representative from ADM, Petitioner, was sworn in by Deanna Buck and provided an <br /> explanation of the need for rezoning. ADM intends to erect a 5 MW solar array on the East side <br /> of the property to provide renewable energy to the Science &Technology Center <br /> Upon call of the roll,Commission members James Schwartz, Matt Naber,Bobby Garner,Andrew <br /> Taylor, Josh Prasun, James Oliver voted aye. Motion carried. <br />
