Public Works <br /> DATE: 3/11/2024 <br /> MEMO: 2024-42 <br /> TO: Lisa Gregory, Mayor Pro Tem and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Scot Wrighton, City Manager <br /> Matt Newell, Public Works Director <br /> Keith Alexander,Water Production Manager <br /> Jennifer Gunter,Watershed and Lake Manager <br /> Kelly Harrison, Procurement Officer <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Accepting the Bid Price of S&R Marine and Equipment for the Purchase of One(1)2024 <br /> SeaArk VFX 2072 Deluxe Patrol Boat, Trailer and Accessories <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Council approve the resolution awarding a contract in the amount of$52,784.25 to S&R Marine <br /> and Equipment for the purchase of(1)2024 SeaArk VFX 2072 Deluxe Patrol Boat,Trailer and Accessories. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> City staff operate three patrol boats. One 1980s era patrol boat that reached the end of its reliable service life was replaced last <br /> year. The other two 1980s era boats are scheduled for replacement this year and next year. <br /> Bids were received by the Purchasing Division on February 16. The bid results were provided on the attached bid tabulation. <br /> S&R Marine and Equipment was the lowest bidder. <br /> The bid includes a boat,trailer and lake patrol accessories such as flashing lights,etc. Boat trailers are built specifically for <br /> each boat model and are generally purchased as a package with the boat. <br /> DISPOSAL OF REPLACED UNITS: The replaced boat,trailer and accessories will be sold or auctioned after the new <br /> equipment is put into service. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> On April 3,2023,the City Council approved the purchase of a similar boat,trailer and accessories. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> None. <br /> OTHER BIDDERS: None. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell,Public Works Director,424-2747.
