For State of Texas Contract#230204, <br /> for Two (2) Ford Transit Vans. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council approve <br /> the attached Resolution authorizing the execution of a purchase order for(2)Ford Vans <br /> for the Transportation Services Department. <br /> Decatur Public Transit System operates fixed-route and ADA paratransit service. <br /> Currently, the paratransit vehicles in the fleet have exceeded useful life by more than 7 <br /> years. The existing fleet are large cutaways, able to seat 16 people, and require a CDL. <br /> The new vehicles are Ford Transit Vans, ADA compliant, and with seating for up to 12. <br /> These vans do not require a CDL. The new style of vehicle will allow us to comingle use <br /> for paratransit and microtransit operations and will also encourage a new pool of <br /> applicants interested in non CDL vehicle operations. <br /> These items will be funded through the Federal Transit Administration Capital funds in <br /> an amount not to exceed $170,194. <br /> BACKGROUND: City Council approved the purchase of paratransit vehicles in the <br /> 2024 City Budget. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: City staff. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: Staff is not aware of objections. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Should the City Council have any questions; they may contact <br /> Lacie Elzy at 217-542-3559 or lelzy_(d*caturil. og_v. <br />
