ORDINANCE NO. � <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> -CHAPTER 56- <br /> -REFUSE AND RECYCLABLES REMOVAL— <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Chapter 56 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the <br /> same is hereby modified and amended by amending Sections 2, 14, 39 and Appendix A so that <br /> Sections 2, 14, 39 and Appendix A as so modified and amended, shall provide as follows: <br /> 2. DEFINITIONS. As used in this Chapter, unless context otherwise requires, the <br /> following words or phrases shall mean: <br /> Basic removal service (Single Family, Dgplex and Triplex): Once weekly <br /> removal of refuse and once weekly removal of recyclables, with limited large item pick- <br /> up as further described herein, and removal and disposal of yard waste as further <br /> described herein. Additional landscape waste removal options shall be approved by the <br /> City Manager under the Promulgated Rules. Customers may use any waste hauler for <br /> extra collection of landscape waste, beyond the services offered under "Basic Removal <br /> Service". <br /> Basic removal service (Fourplex, Fiveplex and Sixplex): Twice weekly removal <br /> of refuse and once weekly removal of recyclables with one annual large item pick up, and <br /> removal and disposal of yard waste as further described herein. Additional landscape <br /> waste removal options shall be approved by the City Manager under the Promulgated <br /> Rules. Customers may use any waste hauler for extra collection of landscape waste, <br /> beyond the services offered under"Basic Removal Service".... <br /> ...Overage Charge: Means an amount charged to garbage and recycling service <br /> recipients to compensate for the expense incurred by the hauler from overages, and to <br /> provide a financial incentive to garbage and recycling service recipients to subscribe to <br /> the level of service corresponding to their normal trash, yard waste, and recycling needs, <br /> such that all materials fit within the container. The assessment of overage charges will <br /> require the hauler to provide dated photographic evidence of overages.... <br /> ...14. YARD WASTE GENERALLY,AND GRASS CLIPPINGS. <br /> (a) Landscape waste, other than limbs, branches and wood, shall be placed in <br /> approved containers within three feet of the curb. Such approved containers may be so <br /> placed no earlier than 24 hours before the established removal time. <br /> (b) Yard waste, limbs, grass, and branches will be collected weekly at curbside <br /> from March 1 to December 15 every year as a part of"Basic Service," and once a month <br /> in January and February every year, also as a part of"Basic Service."... <br />
