March 14, 2024
TO: Mayor Pro-Tem Lisa Gregory& Decatur City Council Members
FROM: Scot Wrighton, City Manager
RE: Resolution Concerning Disposition of Old Garfield School
At the time the council packets were distributed for the March 18 meeting, staff had not yet
received the latest version of a potential intergovernmental agreement between DPS-61 and
the city concerning the disposition of the old Garfield School (an agreement is required for the
city to renew its application for funding and tax credits to support a renovation and re-
purposing of the former school building). I will provide an update on this item tomorrow and/or
on Monday.
Given the time-sensitive nature of this project (the application is due to be received by the
Illinois Housing Development Authority by March 29), 1 have left the item on the council's
action agenda.
