O -q RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A LOCAL PUBLIC AGENCY AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF ILLINOIS TO IMPROVE 27TH STREET, CITY PROJECT 2024-11 WHEREAS, the City of Decatur endeavors to improve 27th Street by reconstruction of the pavement between Hubbard Ave and IL Rt 48, known to the Illinois Department of Transportation as MFT Section Number 24-00411-00-RP. WHEREAS, the cost of said improvement has necessitated the use of State funds, and; WHEREAS, the State funding source requires a match of local funds, and; WHEREAS, the use of State funds requires a joint funding AGREEMENT with the Illinois Department of Transportation. NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR,ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Decatur, Illinois hereby appropriates the sum of Two Million, One Hundred Eighty Two Thousand, Five Hundred and Thirty Five Dollars and Ninety Four Cents ($2,182,535.94) or so much thereof as may be necessary, from any money now or hereafter allotted to the City of Decatur, including State Motor Fuel Tax funds,to pay its share of the cost of the aforementioned project known as Section Number 24-0411-00-RP and State Job Number C-97-110-24. Section 2. That only those streets,highways; and operations as listed and described as part of the 27th Street Reconstruction Project, are eligible for State Motor Fuel Tax funds and shall be designated as Section 24-0411-00-RP. Section 3. That the City of Decatur agrees to pass a supplemental resolution to provide any necessary funds for its share of the cost of this improvement if the amount appropriated herein proves to be sufficient to cover said cost. Section 4. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute the above-mentioned Local Public Agency Agreement and any other such documents related to the advancement and completion of said project,hereto attached as Exhibit A.
