ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM <br /> No. 24-16 <br /> September 5, 2024 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council <br /> FROM: Tim Gleason, City Manager <br /> Cordaryl"Pat"Patrick, Director of Economic & Community Development <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Rezoning Property from R-3 Single Family Residence District to B-2 <br /> Commercial District-2192 East Wood Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the ordinance for re- <br /> zoning. The City's Future Land Use Map in the Comprehensive plan shows this area as Retail. <br /> The subject site is located within a mixed-use area and rezoning to B-2 Commercial District should <br /> have no adverse effect on the general area or the City as a whole. <br /> The City Plan Commission voted 8-0 to recommend approval of both petitions at the September <br /> 05, 2024 meeting. The minutes of the meeting are attached. <br /> BACKGROUND: The subject site is approximately 0.55-acre site and has been used for many <br /> years as a parking lot for commercial uses. The subject site is currently zoned R-3 Single Family <br /> Residence District. The petitioner proposes to rezone the site to create a uniform zoning district <br /> for the site. <br /> For further details,please refer to the attached Plan Commission staff report. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There were no objectors present at the Plan Commission meeting. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: N/A <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Any additional questions may be forwarded to Cordaryl Patrick <br /> (c atrickAdecaturil.gov). <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None. <br />
