RESOLUTION NO. 2024- - 34 <br /> RESOLUTION DESIGNATING HONORARY STREET NAME IN HONOR OF <br /> THE LATE DR.JOHN C. ELLIS <br /> WHEREAS, that on August 17, 2009, the City Council approved an Honorary Street <br /> Sign Program for the City of Decatur; and <br /> WHEREAS an Honorary Street designation shall be limited to individuals, <br /> organizations, entities and events that either had a significant lineage to the City or had a <br /> significant cultural, historical, or humanitarian impact on the City; and <br /> WHEREAS the committee finds that Dr. Ellis meets the criteria set forth in the <br /> ordinance. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the City Council hereby designates the corner of 200 block of E. <br /> Marietta and N. Water St. in honor of the late Dr. John C. Ellis for a period not to exceed ten <br /> (10) years from the date of this resolution. <br /> Section 2. That the cost shall be paid by the applicant prior to and as a condition of <br /> production and installation of the Honorary Street Sign. <br /> Section 3.
