ORDINANCE NO.k' y+ 5 ORDINANCE APPROVING THE CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS AND ALLEYS IN THE WABASH CROSSING NEIGHBORHOOD WHEREAS, East Lake Management and Development Corp. is the property manager for the Wabash Crossing development generally centered on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, south of Grand Avenue, in the City of Decatur, and WHEREAS East Lake Management and Development Corp. has proposed street and alley closures in Wabash Crossing to facilitate better security, and WHEREAS the Decatur Police Department has approved the street and alley closure plan attached hereto as Exhibit A; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR,ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the City of Decatur hereby closes the following intersecting streets and alleys in the Wabash Crossing Neighborhood as depicted on Exhibit A: a. East Leafland Avenue at the east side of North Warren Street b. East Condit Street at the east side of North Warren Street c. East Leafland Avenue at the east side of North Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive d. North Morgan Street at the south side of East Grand Avenue e. North Morgan Street at the north side of East Marietta Street f. North Clinton Street at the north side of East Marietta Street g. Alley between East Grand Avenue and East Leafland Avenue at the west side of North Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Section 2. That the Director of Public Works be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to cause barriers to be placed at said intersections to implement the closures. Section 3. That it shall be prohibited to drive a vehicle over or through the closed portion of the closed streets and alleys. Section 4. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) or more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense.
