ORDINANCE NO.k' y+ 5 <br /> ORDINANCE APPROVING THE CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS AND <br /> ALLEYS IN THE WABASH CROSSING NEIGHBORHOOD <br /> WHEREAS, East Lake Management and Development Corp. is the property manager for <br /> the Wabash Crossing development generally centered on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, south of <br /> Grand Avenue, in the City of Decatur, and <br /> WHEREAS East Lake Management and Development Corp. has proposed street and <br /> alley closures in Wabash Crossing to facilitate better security, and <br /> WHEREAS the Decatur Police Department has approved the street and alley closure plan <br /> attached hereto as Exhibit A; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF DECATUR,ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the City of Decatur hereby closes the following intersecting streets and <br /> alleys in the Wabash Crossing Neighborhood as depicted on Exhibit A: <br /> a. East Leafland Avenue at the east side of North Warren Street <br /> b. East Condit Street at the east side of North Warren Street <br /> c. East Leafland Avenue at the east side of North Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive <br /> d. North Morgan Street at the south side of East Grand Avenue <br /> e. North Morgan Street at the north side of East Marietta Street <br /> f. North Clinton Street at the north side of East Marietta Street <br /> g. Alley between East Grand Avenue and East Leafland Avenue at the west side of <br /> North Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Public Works be, and is hereby, authorized and directed <br /> to cause barriers to be placed at said intersections to implement the closures. <br /> Section 3. That it shall be prohibited to drive a vehicle over or through the closed portion <br /> of the closed streets and alleys. <br /> Section 4. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of <br /> this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) or more than <br /> Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense. <br />
