Fire Department <br /> DATE: 11/18/2024 <br /> MEMO: 2024-12 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Tim Gleason,City Manager <br /> Jeff Abbott,Fire Chief <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Resolution Accepting the Bid of Municipal Emergency Services (MES)for the purchase of five(5) Scott Air-Pak X3 Pro Self- <br /> Contained Breathing Apparatus(SOBA)and Seven(7)Carbon Fiber SCBA cylinders. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding the bid in the amount of$49,605.00 to MES for(5) Self- <br /> Contained Breathing Apparatus and Seven(7)Carbon Fiber SCBA Cylinders. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The requested SCBA and SCBA cylinders match what the department currently uses. These units will allow the department to <br /> equipment Rescue 1 (RI) with SOBA. R1 is not equipped with SCBA currently, and the apparatus responds to all Hazardous <br /> Materials, Technical Rescues and SCUBA alarms. The new SCBA are being funded by a grant that ADM awarded the fire <br /> department.
