Guidepost
FIRM EXPERIENCE
The Guidepost-Kapur team has a long history of experience with public transit operations analyses, service coordination, and
integration studies and providing recommendations for process improvements. We also certify that Guidepost Solutions and
Kapur are not on the Comptroller General's list of ineligible proposers.
CTH T/GRANDVIEW BOULEVARD RESURFACING I WAUKESHA, WI .
Kapur provided the design and preparation of preliminary and final plans,PS&E documents,
and reports for the resurfacing with minor reconfiguration of intersections, replacement of L oft
signals, and stormwater improvements of 0.6 miles of Grandview Blvd(CTH T)from 1-94 to Wr
,t
Northview Road. While primarily a pavement resurfacing project for the 4-lane divided
roadway, it also improved sidewalks, added new signals with monotubes, improved curb -
ramps for ADA compliance, and extended turn lanes. Crashes were also analyzed, both %_
along the corridor, and at a specific driveway that had received safety complaints. .....o' "'
The sidewalk and turn lane improvements resulted in the development of a 10-parcel right-
(-I IFtiT RFI=FRENCE
of-way plat, while the roadway itself required repairs to the underlying concrete pavement i Nate Beth,PE,Civil Engineer
in the form of full-depth concrete base patching, which in turn created a condition with Waukesha County Department of
longer lane closures, and more complex staging and traffic control to minimize impacts to Public Works
adjacent businesses on the busy commercial corridor. As the road borders the Waukesha +1 262.970.4720
County Airport, coordination with the airport was required, and a Phase I environmental nbeth@waukeshacounty.gov
investigation was also conducted.
Two traffic counting cameras(mounted to an existing pole or sign)were utilized to collect
data to determine turning movement counts-the number and type of vehicles. This helped
guide decision-making regarding the geometric design of the roadway, stop sign and signal
warrants/design,traffic circulation patterns,capacity analysis,and vehicle classification.
DIVISION ROAD CRASH ANALYSIS+ COMMUNITY OUTREACri
VILLAGE OF GERMANTOWN,WI
The Village of Germantown sought to gather public input on the proposed reconstruction
of the roadway and adjacent pathways. Two public involvement meetings and a crash
analysis were performed to identify crash hot spots and trends. Additionally, turning
movement counts were conducted to determine if the roadway had adequate capacity, and
if any intersection geometric improvements were necessary. The analysis found that the
roadway had adequate capacity and only one intersection warranted additional turn lanes.
CLIENT REFERENCE
Kapur developed conceptual designs for presentation at public information meetings. Kevin Driscoll,PE,Village Engineer
These designs included an overview of Division Road with options for resurfacing or Village of Germantown
reconstruction from Mequon Road to County Line Road (along with associated cost +1 262.250.4724
estimates), as well as exhibits for the various intersections and side paths that were kdriscoll@Germantownwi.gov
anticipated to be presented. An outreach survey was also conducted that asked
participants where they felt unsafe along the roadway and pathway. Residents also
provided feedback on where marked crosswalks should be added along the roadway.
Recommendations and a summary of the feedback was provided to the Village to use
moving into the next phase of design.
Guidepost Solutions LLC 2
