Council Memo <br /> Police Department <br /> No. 25-41 <br /> DATE: 9/15/2025 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Tim Gleason, City Manager <br /> Brad Allen, Chief of Police <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Resolution Authorizing Payment to the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center for New Police <br /> Officer Recruit Training(Recruit Class 25-26) <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of staff that invoice 24-1586,presented for <br /> new police officer recruit training totaling$65,520.00,be paid to MCLETC. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> DPD uses the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center for new police officer recruit training for initial <br /> training and state certification. The department is required to pay the invoices and then seek reimbursement <br /> from the state. <br /> LEGAL REVIEW: <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> Resolution 25-227 authorizing payment to MCLETC for Recruit Class 25-25. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Brad Allen, Chief of Police, 217-424-2745 and Erik Ethell,Deputy Chief,217-424- <br /> 2740. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The costs of these expenses have been included in the 2025 budget. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> 1.
