TREE REMOVAL SPECIFICATIONS <br /> AREAS 1 THROUGH 4 <br /> This contract will cover tree removal for the attached locations. All tree removals must be <br /> completed by end of business on December 5,2025. Trees are to be removed to no higher than a <br /> 12" stump. All trees are marked with an orange dot. <br /> All trees are located on various City boulevards throughout the City of Decatur.A list of locations <br /> and trees is shown in the Bidder's Proposal. City representatives will be available to meet with <br /> bidders to view trees. Please call Rick Baker or Dan Benscoter 875-4820, Monday-Friday, 7:00 <br /> a.m. —3:30 p.m. to set up an appointment. <br /> The debris from tree removal is to be disposed of off-site at the cost of the contractor. All local, <br /> state, and federal rules, laws, and regulations concerning landscape debris disposal shall be ad- <br /> hered to by the vendor. In other words,all material from this project must be disposed of in a <br /> legal and proper manner or in a licensed landscape waste facility. The City further requires proof <br /> that the successful vendor has complied with the disposal requirements prior to the City paying <br /> the contract price. The successful vendor must disclose to the City in writing what exactly was <br /> done with the wood debris from the tree removals. The City of Decatur will not be held account- <br /> able or be liable for any violations of State, local or federal laws or guidelines. <br /> The contractor,prior to the execution of the contract, shall file with the City of Decatur copies of <br /> completed certificates of insurance. See attached insurance requirements. <br /> The low bidder must provide the City with certificates of insurance within five (5) days of the <br /> bidding. Failure to provide the certificate will cause the low bidder to lose his or her right to the <br /> contract and the contract will be awarded to the next acceptable low bidder who can provide said <br /> certificate within five(5)days of notification. <br /> Employees of the contractor must be covered by Workers Compensation Insurance.The contractor <br /> will hold the City harmless from all damages in any way arising out of the performance of the tree <br /> removal specified herein. The contractor shall be liable for the repair of any property damaged in <br /> the removal process. <br /> The successful bidder shall be responsible for any ancillary costs incurred during the removal of <br /> said tree(s) including but not limited to animal or insect removal, wire drops such as electricity, <br /> telephone or cable, and any hidden problems such as a tree cavity containing concrete or fence <br /> wire or steel within the tree. <br /> City of Decatur Forestry Foreman Dan Benscoter(217) 855-1799 will be the contact person once <br /> removals begin. <br /> The vendor will be responsible for all traffic control. If a road is to be closed, vendors will be <br /> responsible for the road closure and for calling the City Engineering Department at (217) 424- <br /> 2747 at least 24 hours in advance. Road closures must meet MUTCD standards. <br /> The City of Decatur reserves the right to award items on an individual basis which is in the best <br /> interests regarding price and availability. <br />
