This is a negligible increase above the FTA estimated baseline level of 50 dbA but below the values
of the applicable noise standards. The Macon County noise ordinance also has a subjective component
that the noise source should not be audible at 300 ft from the source during the daytime and 100 ft from
the source during the nighttime.Audible is a difficult standard to describe with sound levels as it is
subjective based on people's perception.Based on the FTA estimated baseline,it is not likely to be more
audible than the baseline based on the negligible amount above the surrounding environment for the one
daytime location of Rl and no increase for any other receptors. However, if there are any pure tones
associated with the equipment at specific octave bands, this could make people more sensitive to the
sound being emitted from the inverters and transformers.
