Council Memo <br /> Public Works Department <br /> No. 2025-14 <br /> DATE: 1/20/2026 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Melissa Hon,Interim City Manager <br /> Matt Newell,Director of Public Works <br /> Byron Bowman,Municipal Services Manager <br /> Chris Bergschneider,Fleet Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Resolution Authorizing a Sourcewell Contract to Martin Equipment for the Purchase of One (1) <br /> Skidsteer <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a Sourcewell contract in the amount of <br /> $53,200.00 to Martin Equipment of IL, Inc.,to furnish one(1)2026 John Deere 325G Compact Track Loader. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Public Works,Municipal Services Division,has requested one(1)new skidsteer to replace the existing <br /> skidsteer, #232. The new skidsteer would be used for debris removal,tree removal, street milling and other <br /> street work. <br /> Unit#232 has been selected to be replaced due to its age and condition. <br /> The replacement vehicle should be delivered in June 2026. <br /> OTHER BIDDERS: Altorfer <br /> DISPOSAL OF REPLACED UNIT: The old unit is to be traded in <br /> LEGAL REVIEW: There are no contracts for Legal to review. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> None <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> Fleet Maintenance wrote the bid specifications based on Municipal Services Division needs. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell, Public Works Director, Chris Bergschneider,Fleet Supervisor. Matt <br /> Newell will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Funding for the equipment expenditure is provided in the approved <br /> FY2026 Budget. <br />
