LEGAL DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM <br /> NO. 2026-1 <br /> March 5, 2026 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Moore Wolfe <br /> FROM: Melissa Hon, City Manager <br /> Wendy Morthland, Corporation Counsel <br /> Amy Waks, Assistant Corporation Counsel <br /> Miranda Lambert, Assistant Director of Economic and Community Development <br /> SUBJECT: Amendment to Chapter 55.1 —Mobile Food Units, Temporary Vendor Stands, and <br /> Food and Beverage Carts <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff requests that Council pass the proposed ordinance <br /> amendments regarding Chapter 55.1. <br /> BACKGROUND: Staff recommends amending Chapter 55.1 Section 1 definition of a mobile <br /> food unit to include those that operate on their own property. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the suggested language amendment to Chapter 55.1. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known or expected objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Amy Waks, Assistant Corporation Counsel, at 424-2807. <br /> Miranda Lambert, Assistant Director of Economic and Community <br /> Development, at 217-859-2406 <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None. <br />
