Shackleford Wetland Project LD23-12
Addendum
2-13-26
1. Please reference the attached image. The original access lane(pink line)is
not acceptable for heavy loads. The new lane(blue line)is the route to bring
heavy equipment and rock to the site. The original access lane can still be
used by pick-ups and other acceptably sized vehicles.
2. An additional optional staging area has been designated(yellow box) for
unloading delivered rock if desired. It is located closer to Stare Road to
minimize damage to the landowner's paved lane.
3. It is advised that heavy loads and large equipment not use the narrow path
across the existing berm(existing water and sediment basin). Please cross at
a suitable location upstream of the berm.
4. The 500 tons of CA4 referenced on page 4 will now be utilized on the new
access lane to improve soft or wet location. Improved location should still
include an underlayment of landscape fabric before rock is placed.
5. Three additional keyed stabilization structures have been added to the creek
along the new access lane. Please use the detail for keyed stone toe
protection located on page 19 for guidance. Each location is allotted to 40
tons of RR4.This amount is above the amounts included in the original
plans.
6. On page 3; note 5.2, states"Geotextile shall be placed under all riprap...".
This is inaccurate. Geotextile fabric is required in the two small stream
crossing points and stabilization of the access lane. Geotextile fabric is not
required for stream riffles, stone toe protection, or rock checks.
pg.1
