ORDINANCE NO. "15 <br /> ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING DECATUR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM <br /> TO PROVIDE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO MACON COUNTY <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> WHEREAS, public transportation is an essential public purpose for which public funds may be <br /> expended under Article 13, Section 7 of the Illinois Constitution; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur wishes to provide public transportation service to citizens of <br /> Macon County and become eligible to apply for grant monies as a result from the State of Illinois <br /> or any department or agency thereof, from any unit of local government, from the Federal <br /> government or any department or agency thereof; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Decatur authorizes the service of public transportation <br /> service within the corporate County limits of Macon County, Illinois as agreed upon by the City <br /> of Decatur, Illinois and Macon County, Illinois. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR: <br /> Section 1. That the City Clerk of the City of Decatur shall file a certified copy of this Ordinance <br /> within sixty days of the passage of this ordinance with the Illinois Department of Transportation <br /> Office of Intermodal Transportation and the County Clerk of Macon County, Illinois. <br /> Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval, <br /> as required by law. <br /> Section 3. That the City Manager of the City of Decatur or their designee is hereby authorized and <br /> directed to execute and file on behalf of the City of Decatur a Grant Application to the Illinois <br /> Department of Transportation. <br /> Section 4.That the City Manager of the City of Decatur or their designee is authorized and directed <br /> to execute and file on behalf of the City of Decatur all required Grant Agreements with the Illinois <br /> Department of Transportation. <br /> PRESENTED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of March 2026. <br /> ull oore Wol e, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: ew <br /> Kim Althoff, City Clerk <br />
