Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Authorizing the Decatur Public Transportation System to provide <br /> Public Transportation to Macon County through the Micro Transit Program. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that this item be approved. <br /> BACKGROUND: The City of Decatur will apply to the Illinois Department of <br /> Transportation each year for a Transit Operating Assistance Agreement to assist with <br /> funding the operations of transportation in Macon County. The Transit Operating <br /> Assistance Agreement provides 50%reimbursement to the City of Decatur for <br /> operational expenses up to $168,462.00. This will be matched with our IDOT Downstate <br /> Operating Assistance Program (DOAP) funds. <br /> Historically, the City has only operated within the corporate city limits of Decatur,but we <br /> now operate throughout the entirety of Macon County with our Microtransit program. <br /> This Ordinance is standard when applying for Federal Transit Grants. This language will <br /> be passed on to the Private Microtransit Operator to ensure Federal Compliance. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: Staff is not aware of objections. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Should the City Council have any questions; they may contact <br /> Lacie Elzy at 217-542-3559/lelzy@decaturil.gov or Miranda Lambert at 217-859-2406/ <br /> mlambert@decaturil.gov. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Authorizes the execution and agreement of State <br /> FY2027 5311 grant fund and ordinance. <br />
