ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT No. 2026-26 April 6, 2026 TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council FROM: Melissa Hon, City Manager Lacie Elzy, Economic and Community Development Director SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing the Execution of an Agreement with Hutchins Excavating for the Demolition of 333 E. Macon St., 380 S. Industry Ct., and 440 S. Franklin St. SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the approval of the attached resolution authorizing the execution of agreement for demolition of said structures. BACKGROUND: The properties located at 333 E. Macon Street, 380 S. Industry Court, and 440 S. Franklin Street were bid together as a single demolition project. The City received fourteen(14) bids, with Hutchins Excavating submitting the lowest responsive bid in the amount of$349,800.00. This project will be 100%grant funded through the State of Illinois Rebuild II Grant(CAP 22-1176). These properties, formerly known as the Tommy House Tire Buildings, have received full demolition approval from the State of Illinois. This approval allows the City to proceed with site clearance and advance conceptual planning for a future campus redevelopment. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: No known objections to this resolution.
