Council Memo Public Works Department No. 2026-43 DATE: 4/20/2026 TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members FROM: Melissa Hon, City Manager Matt Newell, Director of Public Works Brad Allen, Chief of Police Kelly Harrison, Procurement Officer SUBJECT: Resolution Accepting the Sourcewell Contract of Sutton Ford Inc. for the Purchase of Two (2) 2026 Transit Cargo Vans with Upfits SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the following resolutions: 1. Resolution awarding a contract for the Sourcewell contract amount of$157,382.80 to Sutton Ford Inc. for the Purchase of Two(2)2026 Transit Cargo Vans with lighting upfits done by Federal Signal. 2. Resolution awarding a contract for the Sourcewell contract amount of$49,874.00 to LDV Custom Specialty Vehicles for the rear seating upfits of Two (2) 2026 Transit Cargo Vans. BACKGROUND: The City of Decatur Police Department has requested Two (2) 2026 Transit Cargo Vans to replace old units due to the age and condition of the vehicles. The vehicles being replaced are: Unit 837, a 2007 Chevrolet G-30 with 17,008 miles. Unit 838, a 2009 Chevrolet G-30 with 25,867 miles. The two vehicles will be sent to Federal Signal Corporation for lighting unfits as part of the Sutton Ford purchase agreement. The two vehicles will be sent to LDV Custom Specialty Vehicles for rear seating upfits that will include rear side bench seating, a divider, storage compartments and wall insulation. The replacement vehicles are estimated to be delivered in 6 to 8 months. DISPOSAL OF REPLACED UNITS: The replaced vehicles will be sold or auctioned after the new vehicles are put in service. LEGAL REVIEW: There are no contracts for Legal to review. PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: None.
