Council Memo <br /> Police Department <br /> No. 26-11 <br /> DATE: 5/18/2026 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Melissa Hon,City Manager <br /> Brad Allen, Chief of Police <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Resolution Authorizing Payment to the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center for New Police <br /> Officer Recruit Training (Recruit Class 26-28) <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of staff that invoice 26-1740, presented for <br /> new police officer recruit training totaling $57,330.00, be paid to MCLETC. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> DPD utilizes the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center(MCLETC) for the initial training of new <br /> police officers,which includes state certification. The department is required to pay the invoices and then seek <br /> reimbursement from the state. <br /> LEGAL REVIEW: <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> Resolution 2026-13 authorizing payment to MCLETC for Recruit Class 25-27. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Brad Allen, Chief of Police, 217-424-2745 and Erik Ethell, Deputy Chief, 217-424- <br /> 2740. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The costs of these expenses have been included in the 2026 budget. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> 1.
