This action is administrative in nature and is not intended to
change the previously approved Conditional Use Permit or its conditions.
BACKGROUND: On October 5, 2026, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 2026-36
granting a Conditional Use Permit for Historic Neighborhood Preservation Use at 357 West
Decatur Street in the R-6 Multiple Dwelling District. The approved use would allow restoration
and preservation of the historic property for use as an event venue.
Following approval, staff identified a need to correct the PIN referenced in the ordinance. To
ensure that the property is accurately identified in the City's official records, staff is bringing
forward a replacement ordinance and requesting rescission of the previously approved ordinance.
The replacement is intended to retain the same property, approved use, and conditions, with the
PIN corrected.
The original Conditional Use Permit includes requirements for final site, landscaping, and
lighting plan approval; general conformity with the site plan; no on-street parking; a maximum
occupancy of 100 persons for the wedding/event venue; and compliance with applicable R-6
standards except as modified by the permit.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objectors to the petition
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: n/a
STAFF REFERENCE: Any additional questions may be forwarded to Lacie Elzy
lelzv@decaturiLgov) or Miranda Lambert(mlambert@decaturil.gov)
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None.
