Mass Transit Memorandum No. 031015-2 March 10,2015 TO: Honorable Mayor McElroy and City Council Members FROM: Gregg Zientara, Interim City Manager Paul McChancy, Mass Transit Administrator SUBJECT: Purchase of Bus Passenger Shelters SUMMARY Staff recommends that Council adopt a Resolution awarding RECOMMENDATION: a Purchase Order to Brasco International, Inc. for the purchase and delivery of 26 bus passenger shelters. BACKGROUND: Staff issued an RFP for the purchase and delivery of 26 bus pass- enger shelters. The shelters are to be approximately 10' long by 5' wide; with a translucent acrylic, hipped roof, with wall panels made of perforated, see-through aluminum; with aluminum benches; and fully ADA accessible. Also, 13 of the shelters are to be equipped with a solar lighting system. Staff sent notices directly to 8 nationals firms that are known to manufacture bus passenger shelters. Of those 8 firms, 6 firms requested the complete RFP and all 6 submitted proposals by the February 27th deadline. Three members of Transit's staff examined the proposals and determined that all proposals meet the require- ments of the proposal process, and that all firms are capable of and competent to perform the work. Staff also found that most of the proposals meet the minimum specifications for the project. The three reviewers scored each firm using the three evaluation criteria contained in the RFP. Attached is a scoring sheet showing the average scores given to each firm, and a sheet showing the proposal prices for each firm. As the scoring sheet indicates, staff recommends that the Purchase Order be awarded to Brasco Inter- national, Inc. at the bid price of $119,600. POTENTIAL No objection is expected.
