P(313)393-0393 F(313)393-0499
' 32400 Industrial Dr.,Madison Heights,MI 48071
' February 27, 2015
Purchasing Division
' City of Decatur
1 Gary K Anderson Plaza
Decatur, IL 62523
' Re: Request for Proposals; Bus Passenger Shelters—DBE Good Faith Efforts
' As a long established manufacturer of passenger waiting shelters for transit agencies throughout the United States,we maintain a
continuous search for DBE manufacturers of the small number of components that are utilized in the construction of our shelters.
Our shelters are manufactured from aluminum extrusions, aluminum perforated panels, aluminum sheet, acrylic sheet and various
fasteners at our manufacturing facility in Madison Heights, MI. There are only a few large manufacturers of each of these items and
we purchase directly from these companies. We fabricate all items here at our plant and we do not subcontract out any work to out-
side companies.
tWe plan on using a DBE firm for the freight portion of the project if the pricing is fair and reasonable compared to other freight compa-
nies. The freight company we plan on using is Davis Freight Management. We do not know what the specific DBE percentage will be
1 as the money won't be allocated for the freight until an order is actually placed and shipped
Our company maintains a diverse workforce and is located in an urban setting in Madison Heights, MI. We do not discriminate for any
' reason in the hiring, promotion of personnel,or the procurement of materials used in our plant.
If you have any questions regarding our DBE good faith efforts or Brasco's affirmative action plan please call(800)893-3665. Thank
' you and we look forward to working with you on this project.
Sincerely,
I
' Sean Loewe
Sales Consultant, Brasco International, Inc.
www.brasco.com
(
( q
