Site BMPs 60 <br /> Dec 2014 Cover Crop Field Day Soil Health 20 <br /> Total Reached or all of FY14 2,106+ <br /> Future educational programs offered in 2015 include: <br /> February 4: Nutrients in the News—As the IL EPA releases the "Nutrient Loss Reduction <br /> Strategy,"members of the IL Council on Best Management Practices will tell our producers how <br /> it may affect their operations, and how they can limit nutrient runoff from their own ag lands. <br /> February 10: Annie's Project---This semester long class looks to educate women <br /> landowners/operators on farm operations. On February 10th, SWCD staff will present the LDWP <br /> to the class, sharing how they, as decision makers, can help keep the watershed healthy. <br /> Besides the programs themselves,the SWCD staff serves in the following capacity throughout <br /> the year: <br /> • Serve on the Macon County Farm Bureau Ag-In-The-Classroom committee <br /> • Assist Macon County Lady Landowners by maintaining their membership list and <br /> assisting with meeting notification <br /> • Serve on the Ag Advisory Board for the Heartland Technical Academy <br /> • Participate in the Heart of the Sangamon River Ecosystem Partnership meetings <br /> Closing Comments: <br /> We have included the financial report for the quarter ending December 31, 2014 with this report. <br /> If you would like more detailed financial information, you may request a copy of our CPA <br /> completed annual audit which we submit to the Illinois Department of Agriculture. <br /> The staff and Board of Directors of the District thank the City for its continued support of our <br /> conservation efforts within the Lake Decatur Watershed. We truly could not accomplish what we <br /> do without your support, both financial and institutional. We would like to invite members of the <br /> City Council to visit us at the USDA Service Center at 4004 College Park Road, Decatur, Illinois <br /> 62521. We also can arrange personal tours of our watershed projects.
