Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Amendment to the Agreement with the State of Illinois for the Eldorado <br /> Street Enhancement Project <br /> City Project 2006-25, State Section 06-00625-00-SW <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Council authorize an Amendment to the Agreement with the <br /> State of Illinois for the Eldorado Street Enhancement project, to extend the date of obligation <br /> from April 12, 2015, to April 12, 2016. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> Appendix A provides a summary of the prior Council actions related to this item. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Project Status and Schedule <br /> Construction on the Eldorado Streetscape Project began in 2009 and was substantially completed <br /> in late 2010 with Otto Baum Company, Inc. as the prime contractor. The estimated final project <br /> amount is $2,488,738.40 which is $146,858 below the$2,635,596 authorized for the project. <br /> The final project cost has not yet been finalized by the Illinois Department of Transportation <br /> (IDOT). <br /> The original Local Agency Agreement between the City and the State of Illinois was executed by <br /> IDOT on April 13, 2009. The obligation limits of Local Agency Agreements are for a period of <br /> 5 years from the date of execution for projects that exceed $1,000,000. The 5 year expiration <br /> date for this agreement was April 12, 2014. On May 5, 2014,the City Council authorized an <br /> amendment to extend the expiration date another year to April 12, 2015. Upon further review of <br /> the length of time it is currently taking to review projects, and provide adequate time, IDOT has <br /> requested that the City authorize changing the expiration date to April 12, 2016. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Illinois Department of Transportation <br /> Page I 1 <br />
