McElroy and City Council <br /> FROM: Wendy Morthland, Corporation Counsel <br /> Sean Gadberry, Neighborhood Inspections Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: Unsafe Structures <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: An item on the agenda for the meeting of August 18, 2014 is a <br /> resolution authorizing action regarding unsafe structures. City staff recommends approval. <br /> BACKGROUND: This is the beginning of the process seeking court-ordered demolition of unsafe and <br /> abandoned structures throughout the community. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None anticipated at this time. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Legal Department staff. <br /> STAFF REFERENCES: Any questions may be forwarded to Sean Gadberry at 424-2794, or email at <br /> sgadberry@decaturil.gov <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The source of funding of these demolitions will be determined at the <br /> time Judgments are obtained. The only funds currently budgeted for demolitions are those obtained <br /> from CDBG monies. . This action can vary, but is usually completed in six (6) months from initiating the <br /> case, unless the case is contested through the courts and dependent on funding <br />
