Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Agreement <br /> Page 3 of 23 <br /> e. Law Enforcement Personnel — An employee of a Signatory Public <br /> Agency to this LEMAA who is a law enforcement officer, county corrections <br /> officer or court security officer, as defined in Section 2 of the Illinois Police <br /> Training Act (50 ILCS 705/2). <br /> f. LEMAA— This agreement. <br /> g. Mutual Aid — Assistance provided by a Public Agency to another <br /> Public Agency pursuant to a definite and prearranged written agreement in the <br /> event of an Emergency or Disaster. <br /> h. Prior Mutual Aid Agreement — a certain Mutual Aid Agreement <br /> having initial signatories in 2002 (with other signatory parties beginning their <br /> participation at a time later than the initial signatory parties) and which reflects a <br /> document modification date of "October 23, 2002" in the footer of the signature <br /> page (page 5). <br /> i. Prior Signatory Public Agency — A Public Agency which executed <br /> the Prior Mutual Aid Agreement and has neither terminated its participation in the <br /> Prior Mutual Aid Agreement nor entered into this LEMAA. <br /> i. Public Agency — Such units of government as are defined as a <br /> public agency by the Illinois Intergovernmental Cooperation Act (5 ILCS <br /> 220/2(1)). <br /> j. Requesting Public Agency — A Signatory Public Agency to this <br /> LEMAA that has primary jurisdiction over the site of an Emergency or Disaster <br /> which, due to its perceived insufficient resources, equipment and/or Law <br /> Enforcement Personnel, would be unable to provide an adequate response to an <br /> Emergency or Disaster without the assistance of others. <br /> k. Responding Public Agency — A Signatory Public Agency to this <br /> LEMAA that provides resources, equipment and/or Law Enforcement Personnel <br /> to a Requesting Public Agency during an Emergency or Disaster. <br /> I. Signatory Public Agency — a Public Agency that has executed this <br /> LEMAA by signature of an authorized individual for the Public Agency under the <br /> authority of the Constitution of the State of Illinois (III. Const. Art. VII, § 10), the <br /> Illinois Intergovernmental Cooperation Act (5 ILCS 220/1 et seq.) and the final <br /> approval required of the Public Agency in order to execute the LEMAA. <br /> 2. Agreement to Participate in Law Enforcement Mutual Aid. <br /> The Signatory Public Agency to this LEMAA agrees that, in the event of an <br /> Emergency or Disaster, it will respond to requests for assistance by a Requesting <br /> Public Agency with such Law Enforcement Personnel, equipment, resources, <br /> facilities, or services as are, in the opinion of the Responding Public Agency, <br />
