Aldrich, Manager, MIS Division <br /> SUBJECT: Aerial Imagery Agreement <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that City Council approve the <br /> attached resolution, authorizing the City Manager to pay the Macon County Emergency <br /> Telephone System Board (ETSB) for use of their aerial imagery. <br /> BACKGROUND: Aerial imagery is an important piece of information that underlies the <br /> city's mapping initiatives. Keeping an up-to-date "base map" of the city allows city staff <br /> quick responses to residents and more detailed analyses for long-range projects. City <br /> staff uses the imagery daily for verifying locations in code enforcement cases, preparing <br /> fire response plans, writing building permits, maintaining city property, and other <br /> functions. It is also the foundation for the City's web-based "Digital Atlas". The city has <br /> partnered with Macon County and the Emergency Telephone System Board on four <br /> previous occasions (2005, 2007, 2009 and 2012) in acquiring high-resolution aerial <br /> imagery for their respective Geographic Information Systems. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTORS: None anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Randy Aldrich, MIS Manager (450-2239) <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: The FY2014 MIS budget is sufficient to cover the <br /> $28,490.90 cost. <br /> 2 Attachments <br />
