ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS TIME AND PLACE OF OPENING BIDS: Sealed proposals for the improvement described herein will be received at the City Purchasing Division located on the first floor of the Civic Center, #1 Gary K. Anderson Plaza, Decatur, Illinois, 62523, until 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014, and thereafter publicly opened and read. A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Huston Patterson, 123 West North Street, Decatur, Illinois 62522. Attendance is not mandatory. No interpretation of the bid documents will be made by the City or the Engineer after the pre-bid meeting. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: The proposed improvement is officially known as: NORTH STREET SIDEWALK VAULT CITY PROJECT 2014-33 The proposed project herein specified and described is to fill in a sidewalk vault that is failing and provide a new sidewalk, curb and gutter, and other associated improvements along North Street adjacent to Huston Patterson's building. INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS: 1. Plans, specifications and proposal forms may be obtained by purchase from Decatur Blue Print, Inc. 230 West Wood Street, Decatur, Illinois, 62523, (217) 423-7589, www.decaturblue.com. 2. Payment shall be made to Decatur Blue Print, Inc., in the amount of $35.00 by BANK CASHIER'S CHECK, BANK DRAFT, CERTIFIED CHECK or COMPANY CHECK made payable to the order Decatur Blue Print, Inc. No refund will be made for the plans, specification, or proposal forms returned. 3. Anderson Plaza Decatur, Illinois 62523 4. The City of Decatur will not release the Engineer's Estimate of Cost in advance of the scheduled time and date of the bid opening.
