COUNCIL COMMUNICATION FORM <br /> PURCHASING & INTERNAL SERVICES MEMORANDUM <br /> #14-02 <br /> February 7, 2014 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor McElroy and City Council <br /> FROM: Ryan P. McCrady, City Manager <br /> Gregg Zientara, Financial Management Director <br /> Deborah M. Perry, Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Furniture Purchase <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding contract to Wiley Office <br /> Furniture to provide and install furniture listed on Exhibit A for the Police Department. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Police Department will move to their new building during the second <br /> quarter of 2014. The majority of furniture presently being used by the Police Department is the <br /> property of the Law Enforcement Commission which owns/manages the LEC building. <br /> The City of Decatur hired Dewberry to design the office furniture layout including specifying the <br /> manufacturer, model numbers, quantities, fabrics and finishes for this site. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Dewberry consulted with the Decatur Police Department <br /> to provide the specifications and negotiated the package. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Todd Walker, Police Chief, 424-2745. Todd will be at the council <br /> meeting to answer any questions council may have about this purchase. <br /> BUDGET: Gregg Zientara, Finance Director, is securing financing from a local bank for this <br /> purchase. <br /> $250,794.46 Furniture <br /> $ 12,000.00 Installation <br /> $ 1,803.54 Contingency <br /> $264,600.00 <br />
