ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS <br /> TIME AND PLACE OF OPENING BIDS: <br /> Sealed proposals for the improvement described herein will be received at the <br /> Purchasing office of the City of Decatur, #1 Gary Anderson Plaza, Decatur, Illinois 62523, until <br /> 2 :00 p.m., Friday, November15, 2013, and thereafter publicly opened and read. <br /> DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: <br /> The proposed improvement is officially known as: <br /> LAKE DECATUR DREDGING OF BASINS 1-4 <br /> AND <br /> REHABILITATION OF OAKLEY SEDIMENT BASIN <br /> CITY PROJECT <br /> The proposed project herein specified and described includes the following work: <br /> This work shall consist of removing 6,655 acre-feet (10,736,733 cubic yards) of <br /> material from Basins 1-4 of Lake Decatur including removal of sediment from the <br /> sediment traps in Basins I and 6. This work shall also include the rehabilitation <br /> of the Oakley Sediment Basin to raise the existing berms by ten feet, requiring <br /> 769,063 cubic yards of material and all other miscellaneous work. <br /> _INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS: <br /> 1. Plans, specifications and proposal forms may be obtained from Decatur Blue Print, <br /> Inc. 230 West Wood Street, Decatur, Illinois, 62523, (217) 423-7589, <br /> www.decaturblue.com. <br /> 2. Payment shall be made to Decatur Blue Print, Inc by BANK CASHIER'S CHECK, <br /> BANK DRAFT, CERTIFIED CHECK or COMPANY CHECK made payable to the <br /> order Decatur Blue Print, Inc. No refund will be made for the plans, <br /> specification, or proposal forms returned. <br /> 3. The City of Decatur will not release the Engineer's Estimate of Cost in advance of <br /> the scheduled time and date of the bid opening. Bid tabulations will be available on <br /> the City's web site at www.decaturil.gov/Departments/Public Works/Contractor <br /> Project Bid Information and Decatur Blue Print's web site, www.Decaturblue.com <br /> after the award of a contract. <br /> 4. All proposals must be accompanied by a BANK DRAFT, CASHIER'S CHECK, <br /> OR CERTIFIED CHECK made payable to Treasurer, Decatur, Illinois, in the <br /> amount of ten percent(10%) of the bid, or BID BOND in the same amount. <br /> 5. The Contractor and all subcontractors shall at all times during the term of this <br /> Contract pay the applicable prevailing wage for Macon County for the month during <br /> which the work is performed, as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor. <br /> 3 <br />
