ORDINANCE NO. 2015- 30 ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR IN CENTRAL PARK -SEASON OF CELEBRATION CONCERTS- WHEREAS,the second,third, and fourth in the Season of Celebration series of concerts will be held in Central Park; and, WHEREAS, it is the intentions of Decatur Celebration and the Beach House to sponsor the Season of Celebration concerts and to offer the following alcoholic beverages: Budweiser,Bud Light, various wines,wine coolers, craft beers and margaritas,for sale to their patrons for consumption at each of the event; and, WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor in Central Park requires the express approval of the City Council; and, WHEREAS,the Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the sponsors and of the City of Decatur that such consumption of alcoholic liquor as described be permitted for said limited time period. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR,ILLINOIS: Section 1. That on the dates listed herein, and only on such dates,between the hours listed opposite each,the above named alcoholic beverages only may be consumed in Central Park located in downtown Decatur, said dates and hours being particularly described as follows: Friday,June 26,2015 5:00 p.m.- 11:00 p.m. Friday,July 10,2015 5:00 p.m.— 11:00 p.m. Friday,July 31,2015 5:00 p.m.— 11:00 p.m. Section 2. That no alcoholic beverage may be consumed as provided herein unless such alcoholic beverage is in a plastic or paper cup. Section 3. That except as otherwise provided herein,the provisions of Section 34(a)of Chapter 52 of the City Code remain in full force and effect. Section 4.That the Decatur Celebration,Inc. and the Beach House will each hold the City of Decatur harmless and indemnify the City of Decatur for each of the Season of Celebration concerts.
