The petitioner is requesting to vacate a portion of the 60 foot Right-of-Way (ROW) located in the <br /> 400 Block of Ridge Avenue. The ROW to be vacated is 35 feet by 60 flet totaling 2,100 square <br /> i <br /> feet in area. <br /> 2. The petitioner owns property on the north side of the ROW requested it be vacated. All other <br /> property owners adjacent to the ROW have been notified of the request to acate and no objections <br /> have been expressed. <br /> 3. The vacation will enable the petitioner to control the improved ROW and�tilize the area as part of <br /> his property. <br /> STAFF ANALYSIS <br /> 1. Letters were sent to Ameren Illinois, Comcast Communications, and AT&T notifying the utility <br /> companies of the vacation request and no objections to the proposed Right-of-Way vacation were <br /> expressed. A blanket easement will be maintained. <br /> 2. An appraisal was commissioned for the 2,100 square foot Right-of-Way with a market value of <br /> $0.50 per square foot totaling$1,050.00. The petitioner will pay the City of Decatur$1,050.00 to <br /> vacate the Right-of-Way in the 400 Block of Ridge Avenue. <br /> 3. It would be in the City's best interest to vacate this portion of ROW as t he formal vacation does <br /> not appear that it will have an adverse affect on the general public. <br /> i <br />
