ORDINANCE NO. 2014-67 ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE - CHAPTER 48— NUISANCES CHAPTER 29—ADMINISTRATIVE ADJUDICATION OF OFFENSES BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Chapter 48 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is hereby, modified and amended at Section 15 thereof, so that said Section 15 as so amended, shall provide as follows: 15. TRASH AND DEBRIS. The storing, placing, leaving or permitting to remain of ashes, refuse, old bricks, concrete, branches, brush, trash or the storing, placing, leaving or permitting to remain of any materials which may harbor rats, in any residential, office or commercial zone of the City as established by the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Decatur is hereby declared to be a nuisance. Firewood stored on the exterior of any structure shall be cut to nominal length(18" - 24") and stacked a minimum of 12" above grade. That Chapter 29 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is hereby, modified and amended at Table 29-1 - Table of Offenses and Fines, so that as so amended the line in said Table for Chapter 48, Section 15 shall read as follows: Chapter 48 Nuisances Section 15 Trash and Debris $150 - $500 Section 3. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to cause the provisions hereof to be appropriately set out in the City Code and to cause the same to be published in pamphlet form according to law.
