<br /> TO THE CITY OF DECATUR ON OCTOBER 20,2014
<br /> COMES NOW the Warrensburg Fire Protection District,formerly known as
<br /> Warrensburg Community Protection District,by Parish&Castleman, and for its Petition
<br /> Regarding Annexation of Certain Territory to the City of Decatur,pursuant 10 70 ILCS 705/20,
<br /> states:
<br /> 1. Warrensburg Fire Protection District, Petitioner,is a duly organized fire protection
<br /> district under the laws of Illinois,located entirely in Macon County.
<br /> 2. The City of Decatur,Illinois, Defendant,is a municipal corporatin, duly organized
<br /> under the laws of Illinois and is located in Macon County, Illinois.
<br /> 3. On October 20,2014,the City of Decatur, Illinois,by action of its Council,passed
<br /> Ordinance No. 2014-53 annexing into the corporate boundaries of the City of Decatur,the
<br /> following described real estate:
<br /> Lot 76 of Huston Forest Acres, as per plat recorded in Book 300, Page 350 of the records
<br /> in the Recorder's Office of Macon County,Illinois; situated in Macon County,Illinois;
<br /> commonly known as 22o6 Dunes Drive, Decatur, Illinois 62526;
<br /> PIN 07-07-032-427-004
<br /> 4. The Warrensburg Fire Protection District objects to said annexation and the
<br /> disconnection of the above-described real estate from its territory because silich disconnection
<br /> may cause the territory remaining in the District to be noncontiguous and that the loss of
<br /> assessed valuation by reason of such disconnection will impair the ability of Lhe District to
<br /> render fully adequate fire protection service to the territory remaining within the District.
<br /> WHEREFORE,the Petitioner respectfully prays that the action of the City of Decatur,
<br /> Illinois, in annexing the property described herein be declared invalid as to the Petitioner and
<br /> prays the Court to order that the said property shall remain within the Warrensburg Fire
<br /> Protection District.
